Boring PC Stuff

Still awaiting my new PC components but decided to get the case ready for them - You can see my old Motherboard Minus CPU etc lying on my kitchen floor - I think i've found out what the problem was - A crack in a heat pipe on the passive cooler over the voltage controller chip set that connects the fan to the rest of the block (The long stripey thing at the top-right of the pic below) The vertical plate on the left side of the cooling block (which housed the fan) was almost dangling-off, i think this was maybe the problem - Chip set was over-heating and not letting not letting the board boot into BIOS - There is my not-so-expert analysis.

And just to add insult to injury: I knew that my new Motherboard would take DDR3 Memory but also thought that it would still run with the cheeky DDR2 Ballistix TracerX memory I just got about 5 months ago - Not the case!! Seems I need to get DDR3 memory as well - Another £300 - Brings my total expenditure to nearly a grand - Sheesh!!! - But what the Fook!!!! - You just won't see me out for a few months lol!! 8+]
